The XB-70 Valkyrie was an experimental supersonic bomber developed by North American Aviation in the 1960s. Designed to reach speeds over Mach 3 and altitudes of 70,000 feet, it was intended to outrun enemy defenses. The aircraft featured innovative technologies, including a delta wing and six powerful engines. Despite its advanced capabilities, the project was canceled due to high costs, changing military needs, and the development of intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBMs). Only two prototypes were built, with one being lost in a mid-air collision. The XB-70 remains a remarkable example of aviation engineering.
