Fifinella, a female gremlin character created by Walt Disney for a planned adaptation of Roald Dahl's book The Gremlins, became the official mascot of the Women Airforce Service Pilots (WASP) during World War II. The WASP requested and received permission from Disney to use the design, making Fifinella a symbol of their pioneering role in military aviation.
