When the USAF Thunderbirds chose Caroline "Blaze" Jensen as a member of their elite flying team, her son was just three years old. While he cherished attending airshows with his mom, he couldn't help but feel a sense of sadness whenever she had to leave for work. During the hectic airshow season, she often found herself on the road for at least four nights each week.

However, on the special nights when Caroline was able to tuck her son into bed, a whimsical idea emerged between them. They playfully imagined that Finn could transform into a tiny mouse, secretly hiding in the cushions of her aircraft, and embark on incredible adventures soaring through the skies alongside his mother. Thus, the legend of Thundermouse was born.

Caroline penned this heartwarming children's book back in 2013, and it's taken years of dedication, support, and love from her fellow Thunderbird sister and editor, Lisa Bolt Simons, the daughter of Capt. Jerry Bolt. It was Lisa who introduced "Blaze" to the gifted Minnesota artist, Donna Eicher, who enthusiastically embraced the project and breathed life into Thundermouse with her beautiful illustrations.

"Thundermouse" is a book tailor-made for military families and single-mom households, as well as for those who share a passion for aviation. It's a story that offers solace to children who miss their parents when duty calls, reassuring them that their loved ones are always with them in spirit, even when they're far away.
