The Lockheed F-117 is the world's first operational aircraft initially designed around stealth technology. The Stealth Fighter, as it is more commonly known, is a single seat, twin engine, subsonic, ground attack aircraft designed by the famed Lockheed Skunkworks. It first flew in 1981 and was revealed to the public in 1988.

Doug Kinsley created Aviation Illustrations in 1989. Having drawn airplanes since he was a young boy with no formal art training, his love of airplanes has enabled him to draw in such detail that one would have to take a second look. Each drawing is thoroughly researched to insure historical accuracy with unmated detail often taking up to 500 hours to complete.
