Introducing a groundbreaking addition to COBI's lineup: a set that combines the rich history of World War II with architectural beauty! The Notre-Dame-de-l'Assomption Church in Sainte-Mère-Église, Normandy, France, became world-famous due to the D-Day events of June 6, 1944. Soldiers from the American 82nd Airborne Division aimed to secure Sainte-Mère-Église, but an unfortunate landing left paratrooper John Steele dangling from the church tower. Suspended high above the ground, he witnessed intense battles below. Despite his injuries, Steele survived. In his honor, a figure of Steele now permanently hangs from the church tower, commemorating the brave liberators. The church, adorned with new stained glass windows depicting paratroopers and related symbols, remains a significant site for tourists and WWII history enthusiasts, symbolizing the heroism of paratroopers and the pivotal D-Day operation.

This meticulously crafted church model is built from 2,280 COBI construction blocks, featuring detailed architectural elements and beautiful stained glass windows honoring American soldiers' fight. The church tower clock shows the precise time the American paratroopers landed.
