Apollo 11 was the first manned mission to land on the Moon. Launched on July 16, 1969, it carried astronauts Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin, and Michael Collins. On July 20, Armstrong and Aldrin piloted the Lunar Module Eagle to the surface, while Collins remained in orbit aboard the Command Module Columbia. Armstrong became the first person to walk on the Moon, followed by Aldrin. They collected samples and conducted experiments before returning safely to Earth on July 24, marking a historic achievement in space exploration.
