Description

U.S.A.A.F. Bombardier, England, 1943-45
Step into the crucial role of a U.S.A.A.F. Bombardier during World War II with this detailed figure. As the pivotal member of a bomber crew, the bombardier was often stationed at the front of the aircraft, taking control during bombing runs. Connected to an autopilot via the bombsight, the bombardier held full responsibility for the plane until the payload was delivered. Additionally, depending on the aircraft type, he often served as the forward gunner. Initially, bombardiers were sergeants, but in 1941, the U.S.A.A.F. began commissioning them as officers to reflect their critical role.
