Description
The You Can Do It! Umbrella was inspired by the Rosie the Riveter poster designed by Artist J. Howard Miller at the Westinghouse Electric and Manufacturing Company in 1942. The original poster was designed as part of the "We Can Do It" campaign to encourage women to join the workforce, filling wartime jobs left open in the factories when men went to defend America during World War II.
The impact of Rosie the Riveter went beyond the wartime era. The recognition of women's capabilities led to increased opportunities for women in the workforce. Rosie's iconic image continues to inspire women today, reminding us of the progress made in gender equality and encouraging women to break the glass ceiling.
This umbrella features a single button which is used to open the umbrella canopy and extend its handle, and to close the umbrella canopy.
