F-14 Tomcat “Jolly Rogers” Die-Cast Model – 1:160 Scale

This detailed die-cast metal replica of the legendary F-14 Tomcat features the iconic markings of the famed “Jolly Rogers” squadron. With its distinctive black tail and white skull-and-crossbones insignia, this collectible model represents one of the most recognizable fighter aircraft ever to serve with the U.S. Navy. Complete with authentic styling and a compact display size, it makes an excellent addition to any modern military aviation collection.

The F-14 Tomcat was a supersonic, long-range interceptor designed to defend U.S. Navy carrier battle groups from enemy aircraft and anti-ship missiles. Known for its powerful engines and impressive endurance, the Tomcat featured a two-seat cockpit beneath a bubble canopy that provided exceptional visibility for both the pilot and radar intercept officer. One of its most distinctive design elements was its variable-sweep wing system, which automatically adjusted between 20 and 68 degrees during flight—sweeping back for high-speed interception and extending forward for improved control at lower speeds.

Strike Fighter Squadron 103 (VFA-103), known as the Jolly Rogers, adopted their famous skull-and-crossbones tail markings in 1995. Flying the F-14 Tomcat, the squadron supported operations during the Yugoslav Wars and later participated in combat operations during the war in Afghanistan. Their final deployment with the Tomcat took place aboard the USS John F. Kennedy in the Persian Gulf, marked by the phrase “Final Tomcat Cruise” painted on their aircraft tails. After returning home in December 2004, the squadron transitioned to the F/A-18F Super Hornet, marking the end of their era with the legendary Tomcat.

This collectible model commemorates both the powerful F-14 Tomcat and the storied legacy of the Jolly Rogers.
