9th Air Force Pin

The 9th Air Force was one of the most important tactical air forces of World War II, particularly known for its support of the Allied invasion of Europe and subsequent ground operations across France and Germany. Today, the 9th Air Force (Air Forces Central), also known as AFCENT, is headquartered at Shaw AFB, South Carolina, and serves as the air component of U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM).
It oversees air operations across the Middle East and Central Asia, including missions in Iraq, Syria, and Afghanistan.
