Falcon GPS Bas-Relief Tile

This work of art depicts the Falcon 9 rocket launch from CApe Canaveral Space Force Station, Florida, carrying a U.S. GPS satellite. In bas-relief castings, the process is similar to that used with common U.S. coins. The image is first meticulously hand carved in clay and then undergoes a complicated series of molds until the final image is cast in metal with portions slightly raised to provide an illusion of depth and perspective. The face of the casting is aluminum with a resin backing for stability. These incredible pieces of art measure approximately 7.75 to 8 inches square and are limited to 200 pieces. They are hand numbered and signed by the artist. The piece will also include a certificate of authenticity with the matching number, also signed by the artist. The pieces are selected randomly, so the number of the piece will vary.

At twenty-seven, he answered a calling to serve in the armed forces, spending nearly a decade exploring the world aboard military aircraft in support of freedom. His travels reignited his love for architecture and artwork, prompting him to pursue his true passion as an artist. Shane earned an associate's degree in Fine Arts and a Bachelor's degree in sculpture from the University of Rio Grande. Hired as an exhibit specialist at the Air Force Museum after graduation, Shane found fulfillment in showcasing his artistic talents. However, driven by a desire to fully embrace his identity as an artist, he made the courageous decision to leave the security of a steady paycheck behind. Relying on his character, work ethic, and passion, Shane embarked on a journey of self-discovery and creative fulfillment, determined to shape his own future in the world of art.
