P-61 Black Widow Die-Cast Model Aircraft – “Lady in the Dark” (1:120 Scale)
The Northrop P-61 Black Widow was a groundbreaking aircraft and the first American warplane designed specifically as a night fighter. Equipped with advanced airborne radar, it allowed United States Army Air Forces (USAAF) crews to locate and intercept enemy aircraft in total darkness—an innovation that changed the course of nighttime aerial combat during World War II.
This twin-engine, twin-boom fighter was originally developed to counter nighttime bombing raids and quickly proved its effectiveness in multiple theaters of war. Among the most famous P-61s was “Lady in the Dark” of the 548th Night Fighter Squadron. Credited as the last scoring aircraft of World War II, it achieved its final victory on August 15, 1945—without firing a shot—by forcing two Japanese aircraft into the sea during a nighttime encounter.
This die-cast metal model faithfully represents the distinctive design and historical significance of the P-61 Black Widow. Featuring a sleek in-flight configuration and mounted on a display stand, it is an ideal collectible for aviation enthusiasts, historians, and model collectors alike.
