The Great Seal of the United States Air Force symbolizes the service's mission to defend the skies and space. It features an eagle, wings spread, holding a ribbon with the motto "Aim High ... Fly-Fight-Win." Surrounding it are 13 stars representing the original colonies and a shield with the Air Force's core values.
