The Space Shuttle Discovery orbiter, also known as OV-103, made its maiden voyage on August 30, 1984, from the Kennedy Space Center in Merritt, Florida. As the champion of the Shuttle fleet, Discovery completed a remarkable 39 missions.

The set includes all three main components of the Shuttle: the orbiter, the External Tank, and the two Solid Rocket Boosters. Discovery holds a notable place in history, being the first orbiter to fly after both the Space Shuttle Challenger disaster in 1986 and the Space Shuttle Columbia disaster in 2003. Among its many achievements, Discovery launched significant pieces of equipment, including the Hubble Space Telescope and the Ulysses spacecraft.
Today, the Space Shuttle Discovery is proudly displayed at the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center of the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum at Washington Dulles International Airport in Virginia.
