The B-17 Flying Fortress is a four-engine heavy bomber developed by Boeing in the 1930s. Widely used during World War II by the United States Army Air Forces, it was renowned for its durability, long range, and ability to sustain heavy damage. The B-17 was pivotal in the strategic bombing campaigns over Europe, targeting German industrial and military sites.
